Vintner Ball History

During the fall of 2005, a group of friends and wine enthusiasts from the Twin Cities were inspired to develop a unique event. They sought to host a tasting of the best wines from around the world and donate the funds raised to a local cause. What followed became the enlistment of wine distributors, connoisseurs, local businesses and, finally, a stunning event in the heart of winter. Thus began the Vintner Ball.

During the past seven years, nearly $800,000 has been raised at the Vintner Ball on behalf of Second Harvest Heartland. Through Second Harvest Heartland’s ability to leverage donations, these funds have helped provide enough food for nearly three million meals for families in need. In very unique fashion for a charity event, 100% of funds raised went directly to Second Harvest Heartland. All associated costs of the event are underwritten by the hosts, and all wine, food, auction items, marketing and facility use are donations, ensuring every dollar collected goes to benefit families in need.

Each year the event grows through much generous support and strives to surpass the previous year’s donations.

On behalf of the hosts, sponsors, donors and volunteers, we appreciate your support in making this event a success, and we hope you’ll continue to attend the Vintner Ball year after year.
